Since my writing is so adorable, I have a long line of Polish pedagogues lining up to power up my Polish. I wish I had more time to post - I'll keep it up as time allows!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04789107864316340983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738913019392592483.post-9976574864510838852010-11-03T19:48:26.881+01:002010-11-03T19:48:26.881+01:00Perhaps it's not very pedagogically sound, but...Perhaps it's not very pedagogically sound, but I find your Polish writing adorable. This for me is the great collaborative effect of language learning here - a little lesson here and there is more memorable for me than a slew of words or rules all studied at once. Same with the year - 'jednego roku', because you're talking about a time that belonged to a certain year. ('On one year's Halloween.') It is more conventional than anything, but if I needed to explain it logically, that's what I'd say. Obviously, the English equivalents that I gave are close to literal translations.Ola Paszkowskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06337772699468166957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738913019392592483.post-47234651187735490652010-10-27T23:14:01.132+02:002010-10-27T23:14:01.132+02:00Thanks Darrell. Instead, it is the sense of 'of' here - 'colour of the dress' that invokes the genitive. That part I think I now understand. But the accusative (I think?) 'jakiego' I'm still no further on.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04789107864316340983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738913019392592483.post-58604476258907548552010-10-27T21:50:00.306+02:002010-10-27T21:50:00.306+02:00"jakiego koloru były" takes the genitiv..."jakiego koloru były" takes the genitive form because of the negation implied by not remembering - "Nie pamiętam". Or at least that's what I think.Darrellnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738913019392592483.post-65529844278962516332010-10-27T20:04:20.391+02:002010-10-27T20:04:20.391+02:00Dzięki!
